I've heard of people making jams and wine from them that aren't too bad. Also, exoticfruit, that "dioecious stuff" is definitely related to the fruting process.

I've had good success in shade but only at about 1/4 to 1/2 inch depth.

Alright, thanks for the input. I was hoping it wasn't some kind of deformity from fungus or bacteria. I'll definitely defoliate the ground and get some more mulch.

Just recently bought this Glenn from Excalibur and planted it. Within a few weeks it flushed and the growth got quite scraggly. Anyone seen this or know if it's an issue?
