how Casimiroa edulis germinate?
Do they need 24 hour soak? They are large and hard seeds ...
Did I sow directly into soil with high temperature and humidity like most tropical fruit?

Here in California the seeds germinate on the ground from fallen fruit. They don't seem very picky. I'll put many on top of the soil in a 5 gallon container with about 1 inch of soil on the top. Left outside (75 degree days, 55 degree nights) they germinate and are then transplanted to individual pots. The seeds shouldn't be dry as the germination rate falls. We are on the cool CA coast, but low humidity. They grow like weeds with little care.

White sapote? They are easy to germinate. Not all that tropical. They make a long taproot and will shoot straight up. I cut mine back to 5 ft after the first year so it will make lower branches.
They're also pretty tolerant of drought. I heard some trees started producing fruits after big drought events.

I got mine from Oscar and I soaked it in fungicide solution. It started to germinate in just 10 days.
112ºF in here. 8)

Remove the seed coat and soak for few hours, to rehydrate the seeds...works very well for me.

Drying out is no problem for these seeds. This is not a tropical species. Seeds can be stored for very long time. Super easy to germinate and grow. Jack gave already good advice on how to start them. Here right now have lots of volunteer plants growing under the trees from fruits that dropped.

Yes. Not surprising since they are in same family as citrus, Rutaceae.

How helpful is it to remove the seedcoat? I didn't have any luck last year planting outside without removing it, now I am trying to crack them and germinate in damp paper towel. Wondering if I should have removed the coat completely though.

I cut along the ridge that you see on one side of seed and then you can peel back the seed coat. Help's if seed's are left in shade to dry out a little first.
