I posted a pic of the tree (rutledge) in an earlier post...when I saw the tree I was captivated, and luckily given a tip by a knowledgeable mango eater/grower, that this was a premier mango...and I must admit, the flavor is mild and sweet, and reminiscent of the fragrance of a honeysuckle (or some sweet flower)...it has no fiber and a great deal of delicious flesh to eat.

I highly recommend this extremely delicious mango!

I wish I had more to eat now.  :(   :)

I have fond memories of Rutledge.....unfortunately they are only memories since I haven't had one in about 3 years or so. I think I was told its probably a Haden x Osteen cross.

All you S Florida folks running out of mangos to try, car pool north to taste the mangos of Merritt Island.  Had a wonderful tasting Rutledge today, along with a peach flavored Cannonball and the Osteen was outstanding as well!  Very much worth the drive.  Great people there at Ensey's place and easy access off I-95.

I got two Rutledges that were picked early; massive jelly seed. Throwaways. I've never had a good one. Boo!  ;)
They're like the Varmint-Cong...
