Citrus General Discussion / Is horticultural oil safe for citrus
« on: August 09, 2018, 09:05:26 PM »
Hi everyone,
I have some issues with spider mites on my lemon tree. Is it safe to apply horticultural oil to kill the pests? I am a little bit worried because someone at Home Depot said that it will kill my tree. Outdoor temperature is around 80F and I will put my tree under shade for a couple of days to protect it from sunburn. The brand is Green Earth.
If it’s not safe, I could use another product called End All. Which product is more effective against mites? I don’t have access to neem oil because I live in Canada.

Thank you

Hi everyone,
I have a shiranui grafted on cleopatra. Is it a good combination? I read somewhere that trees grafted on this particular rootstock will slowly decline after ten years. Is it true?

Hi everyone,

Here are some background:
- I live in montreal canada where we had a very wet and cold summer this year.
- I only water my tree when the top is drying and give some fertilizer once a week (dynagro foliage 9-3-6).
- It had been outdoor all summer and Have been indoor this week because the temperature is going down to 40F.

I have inspected the tree and didn t see any bugs. By precaution, I spray my tree with a insecticide soap.

Hi all,
I read Millet's wonderful review on the Valentine review and I am very tempted to acquire one. Woul it be possible to fruit this variery considering that I live on the east coast of Canada and don't have a greenhouse? It will be in a container and bring inside for winter.
Thank you for helping me
