no idea but they are fast to grow, they can root from cuttings too

the outer carpels taste like green apple, I haven't tried the inner fruit but its also supposed to taste like green apple

They are not a dessert fruit and are pretty hard and fibrous.D. philipensis I think it is I see in some parks is more of a fruit for out of hand.

Yes definitely not a fruit I would eat out of hand, I would like to experiment with all the different ways of processing.

sold 2 boxes, I have about 15 fruit left. these can seemingly last 1-2 weeks without issue. If these go bad I can easily collect more for anyone interested.

I can agree with how fast they had a seedling that grew really fat. Sad to say hurricame irma seemed to enjoy it more than me!!!!!!!!

Elephant apple is a tough tree and planted around carparking lots here. They lose a few leaves in the dry season but are evergreen. The phillipine one is juts a small tree or bush and not so tough.
