New seedlings or new sprouts from the same feijoa?
« on: October 31, 2012, 11:01:58 AM »
Hi,

Hi, I filmed this video because I would like to know if the new sprouts in the floor are from different seeds or from the same big plant. As I bought this at a nursery, probably they sow many seeds in the pot and now we have 4 plants.

So, in that case, I will need some advices to extract the new sprouts and put them in new pots.

Thanks in advance

They look like suckers. Is the plant grafted? If so, remove anything below the graft line. If not it doesnt really matter and low shoots and suckers will just make it into more of a bush.

Yes, thanks a lot.

Also, a friend told me They are just normal shoots that come from the bottom, probably each spring,
why they are different is probably, because shoots at the top send down some
sort of chemical to suppress lower shoots, so that's probably why the top
ones look so much stronger...
