Does it come true to seed?

I don't think so.  Why would it?  There are many cultivars.  On the other hand, it doesn't require cross-pollination so is it pollinating itself?  Experts or even pseudo-experts, you may weigh in.

seedlings might require cross pollination like with white sapote

Sorry, I guess I should have said why I asked.  I want to purchase a sapodilla alano and found seedlings on eBay cheap.  If they come true, I would buy one.  If not, will spend an extra 50 bucks and get a grafted tree.

I have seen some pretty large trees for sale grown from seed and they still
had never flowered. I heard they don't grow true from seed and one forum member
said the seedlings produce more gritty fruit? I do have a seedling I am growing from a brown sugar
fruit but I have 5 grafted trees also. I would buy a large grafted tree from a good source.

Seedlings sometimes don't fruit or take along time to fruit or fruit small amounts of fruit on the other hand you get the best fruit ever.

A friend of mine had the healthiest looking sapodilla tree, from seed. Never flowered at all and it was cut down after 8 years.

A makok seedling would fruit pretty quickly from seed.

A makok seedling would fruit pretty quickly from seed.

would it come true to seed as well? or maybe an equally productive tree with a bigger fruit? ;)

Doubt it would be true to seed. I have a very strong suspicion that Silas Woods is a seedling of Makok though. Seeds from either of those trees would be my choice for experimentation.
