Can I graft Mangosteen cuttings on Gamboge?

Hello - I have a Gamboge grown from seed but I would love a sweeter mangosteen variety - first can I graft a mangosteen on a Gamboge and two who has a great variety I can buy cuttings from?

Mangosteen generally has poor compatibility and will not survive very long on any other garcinia except Hombriana, as far as I am aware.
Even grafting can be difficult; approach grafting is the usual way to go.

Hi Mangosteen could be grafted in any garcinia. The approach grafting is preferred. But if you don't get vertical growth branches the tree will growth laterally. The best way is getting a 2-3 year old seedling. Mangosteen have very delicate roots and not tolerate hard handling. not to mention that it will need sun protection for the first years
