Why is it not recommendable to grow young trees in big pots. I have made mistake with my trees, when couple of years ago i planted them in to oversized pots. Now the are losing leaves and not looking good. I thought trees would like to have more space to grow roots. Those, recently planted in smaller pots are doing great.

Citrus General Discussion / changing leaf color over night
« on: August 08, 2017, 09:25:50 AM »
funny thing happened last week. I forgot to shut off water while watering one in ground lemon, which always had pale light green leafes. In 3 hours i realized what i have done and shut down the pipe.
Next morning the leafes turned dark green.  I war surprised to see such difference in color in just one night.

Citrus longhorn beetle was found in Croatia last month. MInistry of agriculture cut down all trees in radius of 100 meters from infected trees. Only maple trees have been infected so far.

Citrus General Discussion / how much heat is enough for star ruby?
« on: August 14, 2014, 04:13:26 AM »
How much heat does it need for star ruby to get red and sweet? I know it gets red in Florida and Texas. Can it get red and sweat in California or in Mediterranean? Does it have anything to do with rootstock?
