Looking for Zone 9 fruits
« on: January 29, 2012, 09:41:08 AM »
I am also looking for the following trees:

Loquat - almost any variety is fine
Cherry of the Rio Grande
Persimmons: Fuyugaki, Saiyo, Triumph
Sunrayer Nectarine
Floraprince and Florago Peaches
Anna and Tropic Sweet Apples
Oranges: Ambersweet, Parson Brown, Hamlin and Dancy

If you have any of these and want to trade, you can email me off list. After leaving so much behind in Naples, I have a lot of catching up to do in terms of fruit production.  :)

Thanks,
Erica

Erika,  if you don't find everything you need through trading and so forth, you may want to try Hopkins Tropical Fruit nursery, in Immokalee.  They sell trees for both zones 9 and 10.   On their website it sounds like they are mostly wholesale now, but they could help you one way or another.  They are a great family, and used to have a nice nursery in Broward county.

Geez, I've been in this area for 20 years and didn't know Hopkins was there.

Mangomandan - Sebring Acres is that area off Earnhart Road, I think. We considered purchasing 2 acres and a trailer there. It is an interesting place. :-)

I am back in the woods off Shepard Rd.

Have you ever been to the Mesa Plant Nursery off 27 in Palmdale? I have never stopped, but it looks interesting.
