Your Russian Dragon Fruit looks to be growing about the same as mine was a few months after planting. I have tried to see it through your eyes imagining trying to grow green peas (Pisum sativum) during our Florida summer with temperature of 35C and near 100% humidity. I would have to seal up my shade house, install air conditioning to bring down the temperature and humidity, and make sure none of that ever failed all summer long. Even one day of failure would be the end of my pea-growing. Good luck to you.

I measured the growth rate of the dragonfruit for three days, and the result satisfied me. Is it a good growth or should it be faster?
I am interested in the question of how often should I water the dragon fruit if I have a constant humidity in the greenhouse of 80%?
And soon my blooming passionflower!

Hi guys. I measured the growth rate of the dragon fruit, the mark is June 12 and today, June 18, it looks like this. Is it a good height or should it be bigger?

Hi, yes, of course, in winter it is very cold here. I'm going to move the dragon fruit for the winter in a warm room, where the temperature is +22 C

Then you shouldn't have problems. I saw in the video that they were planted in the ground, that's why I told you about winter. When I get new cvs I place them indoors during winter and they keep growing fine, I just reduce watering frequency. How do you plan to manage the plants in long term? Climatized greenhouse?

Yes, that's right, I'm going to set a greenhouse with climate control.

Duuude!!! Now that really is awesome and inspirational 👏  Growing tropicals in Russia!?! That’s something special because everything looks really healthy especially those blooming passion fruit!
I grow some dragon fruit but don’t have to much knowledge about them yet. So I can’t really comment on your question about watering. Yours seem to be doing well, are you trying to have it grow even faster? Maybe foliar feeding would be better idea??

Pineislander- You’re not the only one!! I’m going to give peas another try hopefully in the fall!! (Summer seems implausible with the heat index feeling hotter than •105+F 🥵

Hi, yes, of course, in winter it is very cold here. I'm going to move the dragon fruit for the winter in a warm room, where the temperature is +22 C

It'll be fine at 22c! The only time my dragon fruits died were when I let them get hit by frost, otherwise they're fine outside   under a pergola or frost cloth.   We got -7.6c last year and it didn't die from the cold, however, direct light frost in spring killed it. I have had many over the years, the biggest mistake I've made was thinking that they were hardened somewhat after living through winters and putting  them out in the spring only to be turned to mush by the lightest of frosts :(

I’ll take away my plants from the frost to a warm room, today we have another problem, since the beginning of July it rains every day, it’s good that my dragon fruit is in the greenhouse, otherwise it would have drowned! :-\

Hi Oscar. Now I have a household heater installed in the greenhouse. I keep the plants in the greenhouse until the end of October and with the onset of cold weather I move them into the house. My house allows you to keep a large number of plants in 3 gallon pots in winter. In the spring with the onset of heat, I again move them to the greenhouse. Plans for the future to build a greenhouse with climate control. I tried this C. abutiloides the taste disappointed me. Very bitter peel, it interrupts the taste of the fruit, which seemed to me like a slightly sweet tomato.

Chernobyl is Ukraine. You should go in for education and not write nonsense.  8)
I appreciate humor when appropriate. But in this case, your jokes look stupid and inappropriate. If you have nothing to say on the case, then better keep silent.

Actually in 1986 when the reactor meltdown occurred Chernobyl was still part of the Russian USSR before the 1991 Communist collapse.  So don't nuke me bro.......Now you know why there are no famous Russian comedians.

To a great extent this group is about zone pushing. Amazing what you are able to grow and fruit in a greenhouse in Russia. Keep it up!  :D Maybe i missed it, but what part of Russia are you in?
Hi Oscar. I live in central Russia, 100 km south of Moscow.
What kind of heating system do you use? And do you have a back up system in case of power failure in first system?
To date, the greenhouse is not fully equipped with a heating system, so every autumn I have to transfer plants to the house. As heaters, I use household infrared panels, but they do not give the desired result, and therefore are only involved in the early spring and autumn.

Hi Patrick. This is in my plant collection: Akebia quinata, Bromelia pinguin, Eugenia different varieties, Garcinia different varieties, Grewia occidentalis, Malvaviscus arborescens, Buddha Fruit, Myrciaria different varieties, Sacha Peanut, Guava different varieties, Cuatomate, Mombin, Ackee, Artocarpus different varieties, Carambola, Canistel, Dragonfruit 12 varieties and much more, I can't remember everything at once. I grow all this from seeds,it is very difficult for me to persuade someone to send cuttings for grafting.

The temperature in the cold season is maintained within + 15°C, but there are force majeure and the temperature drops to +5°C for a short time.

Melon has an amazing aroma that spreads throughout the greenhouse during fruit ripening, but the taste is not as sweet as I would like, so I use the fruits to make a pie.

The greenhouse is constantly being treated from pests. We have a lot of whitefly, spider mite, shield, and if preventive treatments are not carried out, they destroy plants.

This year, Cuatomate (solanum glaucescens) bloomed profusely again and there are no fruits again. I'm going to put it in a pot and put it in the house for the winter. I have two plants growing, does anyone know if he needs cross-pollination or is one plant enough?

What do you use to treat spider mites? Thank you.

I use the "Aktellik" insecticide for my plants, other people use different drugs, such as "Fitoverm" or "30+". Everyone has their own preferences.
