let's get a thread going in the discussion that's dedicated to this species from India (kind member Roy-Ind)...here is a thread in the for sale section where we have been talking about it already
http://tropicalfruitforum.com/index.php?topic=11508.0I have been growing it for about 1.5 yrs now?
they took a while to germinate, I thought the seeds had rotted, but they popped up over 3 months after planting...
I have about 4 seedlings that were all planted in the same pot.
the time finally came to separate them last week....one of the four was about 2ft tall, the other two were about 1ft tall, and one was less than 5 inch tall, looked like it just sprouted.
I was really worried about killing the trees, because I really damaged the fragile long roots when I separated them....but it looks like they are going to recover just fine. It's nice to know they are not super fragile.
they don't seem sensitive to city water, or high pH.
also survived cold temps of about 34F...so i'm guessing a freeze of 32F isn't going to harm a mature tree.
I'm really excited about this rare Garcinia...I''ll post some pics later.
