Avocado seeds are really easy to sprout, anyone can get them going and make their own trees. My advice is start them in 5 gal pots with cactus mix or potting mix with extra pumice, sand, and perlite. Then graft in late spring. You can put the seed just barely covered in soil and keep wetted for a month or so and they will usually be sprouted. For people in southern CA that have acess to reed seeds from farmers markets, those make good rootstocks.
