Not sure we’re part of the US but those are all great here in Hawaii. Not commonly grown but we’ve had them fruiting for 15-20 years. We’ve also planted but not fruited Artocarpus sarawakensis, hirsutus, anisophylus, and elasticus. These are all vigorous, large trees. I wonder how one could grow them in a greenhouse. Maybe lanceifolius with smaller leaves and smaller but very good fruit would be more amenable to undercover culture?
Any South American fruits you can make a satisfying/ nourishing meal out of ? I guess acai would be one but are there any others? And besides peach palm. Seems like most the fruits there I’ve seen or heard about from there I would only consider to be snack fruits
Acai has very little pulp, you need a ton to make a bowl of acai like we enjoy commercially these days. Sapotaceae is good stuff for smoothies in general. Annona can be a big feed. I could eat a massive bowl of pitanga or other eugenia?
I don't know what counts as a nourishing meal, I guess. I just snack all day on fruit and nuts anyways, leaving meat and carbs for the bigger satisfying windows.
How’s the quality, and do they also have well known varieties or is it all kampung?
