Lang & Li Jujube problem
« on: July 25, 2017, 10:47:16 AM »
Hello, anyone here knows if Li Jujube really need Lang Jujube to produce lots of fruits? I have a big Lang tree and I don't really like this type and planned on replacing it with the Sugar Cane Jujube.

Lang is supposed to be good for dried fruits. The seeds are small or aborted.

I like the Li too. GA866 also good. People say it's shy bearing but I haven't had it long enough to know.

Just graft the Sugar Cane onto the Lang since the roots are already far reaching?

i have a single Li jujube tree no other jujube trees around me i get over 60 gallons of fruit a year , so i would say NO you do'not need the lang, i would do as fyliu says and keep the root stalk and graft on to it.              Patrick
