Native rainforest grapes

Hi,
found some edible grapes in the Borneo jungle.

 I read that there are related species in America. Are those edible, too?

Wow! That is so cool!

The American grapes that I am familiar with are muscadine, which is Vitis rotundifolia.
Those sure remind me of the muscadine I have tried!

We have lots of feral American grapes in Germany, some probably muscadine but hard to id. I like to harvest them around my farm. ☺️The German authorities call them Amerikanerreben and try to eradicate them.

Those tropical grapes look similar to these found in Australia.At 16:20 Les Hiddins finds somme and eats them.Says they taste good.Maybe yours were unripe. https://youtu.be/SwE9ai-XFwM

No, the fruit Les is eating is Cayratia trifolia. I found this just a couple miles from the other grapes:

I was actually trying to ask if anyone has some experience with the Central American Amphelocissus species.

Btw the bush tucker man and his videos rock. One day i will go to Australia and try all those rare fruit. Just foraged Bunya pine for the first time two weeks ago.

, but I wonder if your it's pepper vine your thinking of grows in the south, but I have no experience tasting it.

Fruit - raw or cooked. A poor taste[177]. The fruit is about 8mm in diameter and contains 3 seeds[200, 235]. It is carried in small bunches on the plant, rather like grapes[K]. The flesh is thin and inedible[235].
