Hi Adam! Just to inform, that the package with the seeds of E. itaguahiensis, has arrived 2 days ago.
It was delayed by an almost 2 week stop at the Lisbon customs, and I don't know why, because it always passes trough customs only in Funchal, but this time they stoped it there and it took ages to continue it's way... Anyway, everything was still in good shape!
Thank you very much, for the extra seeds!

For local pick up only (I will not ship anywhere)

a one of a kind, cocktail jaboticaba in 15 gal pot, with 4 varieties (5 including the rootstock, which is capable of producing fruit eventually) $250

Grimal (mature scion)
trunciflora (close to mature scion)
aureana (close to mature scion)
phitrantha "Otto Anderson" (close to mature scion)
on a 10yr old Sabara rootstock (that was a bonsai tree at one time)

the tree will be a long project, that requires lots of maintenance, (in the form of pruning).  These trees are a bit of an experiment, but so far the results have been great.  I have several of them growing and fruiting, but some of the scions need to be pruned heavily, and some fruit much sooner, and more often than others.

please email for more info (remember I disabled the forum's PM system!  ;D )...I will try to post a picture by tonight.

Here is a pic of the tree!!  it's a beauty, but the soil is heavy as concrete...and it's hard to transport, because you can easily break off a graft if you aren't careful... a van would be perfect...but a truck can work too...

Adam, do you have any specific instructions for growing E. itaguahiensis from seed and the care after it sprouts? Is it like Grumixama, because I have a somewhat healthy tree that I have had now for 2 years, got it from Plantogram at already about 2.5-3 years old, so it's about 4 or 5 years old at over 6ft tall, and it stays healthy inside during the harsh Michigan winters. It is very sparsely leafed but the  the branches that have leaves are healthy and growing, still no flowers tho.

just like grumixama in my experience, but give them lots of sun after they get over 1ft tall, or they will get leggy...and take longer to fruit.

Ok, thanks. The pitangatuba and rainforest plum are both healthy and more than alive. I potted them up and watered them a lot and they are very happy as of right now.

Never ordered from them as I am a bit skeptical but they have an amazing variety of trees, for cheap, and they are in Puerto Rico so I don't think you need permits. Has anyone dealt with Govardhan Gardens? If they are legit this might be like a goldmine for me at least.

I haven't ordered from him yet, but I hear he's great! I've heard positive things about him from a number of members on here. I'd definitely order from him. I'm not sure if he ships plants, but I know he ships seeds.

I think they do ship trees, but he says it will be quite expensive for shipping and all of the plants are bare rooted. "For those of you who want to mail-order, I urge you to take special care of your new trees, as bare-rooting and shipping is stressful for them (some are more sensitive than others). I mainly offer this service in case some trees are unavailable locally. If you want to place an order, please contact me by e-mail (sadhu@coqui.net) before, so that I can confirm the availability and size of the trees. All trees are sent bare rooted, the roots are treated against nematodes and wrapped in a humid, sterile medium."

That one is new to me. They look like they have a lot of good plants for very reasonable prices. I wonder if they ship plants... It would be very nice if they did.

This thread is for Adam's nursery.  Why is it being hijacked to talk about other places.  I think its best to start a new thread if you want to discuss other random nurseries.
