I know a handful of Chefs that worked in Japan that all want it. Used as a flavoring like a Yuzu.

I have one in a greenhouse in Portland in the ground. I heat it a little when it drops below freezing, but it was 27 a few nights this winter, and totally fine.

I have plenty of Yuzu wood that I could provide cuttings. Do you have anything interesting to trade?

35
Hi Ross, I would definitely trade for cuttings from some of your figs. I don't have a 3gallon ready to go, but I have 2g flying dragon rootstock and I could graft up one with Nagami and Fukushu and Meiwa on it.

Cold Hardy Citrus / Australian Desert Lime hardy to -11f?
« on: May 01, 2020, 12:42:04 PM »
I just came across this article, and it says "The desert lime is the only pronounced xerophyte in the orange subfamily, is extremely drought tolerant and able to withstand extremes of hot (45ºC) and cold (-24ºC) temperatures (Swingle and Reece, 1967)"

http://www.ausbushfoods.com/bushfoodsonline/backissues/Issue16/Issue16_4.htm

That obviously seems insane, but it would explain why the "razzlequat" or Eremolemon grows outside in Southern Oregon at the house that used to belong to the Oregon Exotics Nursery owners. It's zone 8a, gets into the low teens regularly in winter.

Cold Hardy Citrus / Khasi Papeda
« on: April 15, 2020, 12:01:51 PM »
Does anyone know much about the Khasi Papeda? I just got two cuttings from a tree growing in Portland. The guy got it from Oregon Exotics about 15 years ago. He said he uses the fruit like a lime.

Citrus General Discussion / Best spray fertilizer?
« on: January 30, 2020, 07:29:02 PM »
What do you think is the best foliar spray fertilizer? Are there citrus specific ones? Have you tried Neptune fish fertilizer? all of my berries love it, but I haven't used it on citrus.

Temperate Fruit Buy, Sell, & Trade / Loking for bulk Fig cuttings
« on: November 23, 2019, 04:59:51 PM »
I am looking to get a large number of fig cuttings from Panache,
Ronde de Bordeaux, LSU Tiger, and LSU Purple.

44
just fruits and exotics has red ones.

45
Harris and Just fruits and exotics in FL both have them.

46
It may very well be a lighting issue.  I find these trees to be a little sensitive to fertilizer also.  Mine is planted in full sun, but is in the ground and is two years old.  It has put on so much new flush this year, that you can hardly see any older leaves.

TFN

You have one planted in ground on zone 8a? How did it do through your last two winters?

Just noticed the account a few days ago.

If it's not flowering give it a drench of Bayer Adavance.

Which one? The rose and flower care?
