Hello, any expert here can help me choose which B type avocado a good pollinator for my Haas avocado tree? Sir Prize or Fuerte Avocado?

1. How far do type A & type B need to be close?
2. What's the season for Sir Prize?

I read online that for type A & type B to pollinate, they need to bloom the same time, right?

Sorry for the newbie questions.. thanks!!

Tropical Fruit Discussion / HELP: Jujube tree problems
« on: July 25, 2017, 10:53:00 AM »
Hello, anyone here knows if Li Jujube really need Lang Jujube to produce lots of fruits? I have a big Lang tree and I don't really like this type and planned on replacing it with the Sugar Cane Jujube. I have 2 Li Jujube trees.

Also, this year my Jujube trees have very soft fruits on the trees. I mean the fruits still on the trees now and when I hold onto it, it's soft and not hard or like those crunchy type like how I had it last year. Last month I have tons of fruitlets on these trees, but somehow, it dropped a lot of fruits. I deep water it every 2-3 days, but last year it watered less. Wonder if I water too much? Thanks

Today I cut down a bunch of my atemoya's flowers as I heard some people said it will help the tree's growth. Is it true? Or it won't matter? It's a 4 foot atemoya's tree with a 1" trunk, but it has over 18 pea size fruits, so I removed most of its flowers and just leave it with 6 fruits. Am I doing anything wrong? I'm just afraid my tree will die..

Guys, I have few questions in regards to hand pollination for the Atemoya and Cherimoya trees. I have hand pollinated roughly 100 flowers, but 100% failed :(. I have 4 atemoya trees and 3 cherimoyas, many flowers, but I do not know whether I did it right or not.

1. How can I tell if I hand pollinate successfully?
2. If the female flower turns into a male flower, is that means the process failed?
3. What is the sign to look for and how long can I expect to see if the result of hand pollination is successful?

Thank you!
