Sweetest guava variety
« on: December 04, 2018, 12:10:20 AM »
I know very little about guavas.  My wife is from Nicaragua and likes them, but, the one I planted here in AZ always tasted bland to her.  I had Beaumont Red and would let it fall off the tree before giving it to her to eat.  I even waited 3 years for improved quality and it did not work.
I am not sure there is a native Nicaraguan variety, but, I think she likes soft flesh.  Anyone gave a variety with a high brix reading?
Also, in central america they call them guayaba.  Any other countries have a different pronounciation?
