Here's a bigger picture. The bud I used was very young(not recommended) and that was all I had at the time.

Anybody did Chip budding in Mango seedlings?

Graft was done on 3/6/15. Its completely healed in. But, the bud still hasn't pushed. It's probably because the the bud I used was not mature enough. I've tried snapping(not completely) the rootstock above the graft to stimulate the bud. Waited over a month and still nothing. Today I just completely cut off the top.

Please keep updating.
UPDATE, the bud has finally started to push. It'll be my first success with budding. Hooray! :-)

I thought chip and patch bud was the same. I don't know the difference.  Anyways, I just cut out the bud in  rectangular shape and made a matching cut on the rootstock and wrapped it up together.

I am not 100% sure, but I think in Chip budding a thin layer of "wood" beneath the bark is also going to the seedling.
And I found Chip budding is the easiest  :P.
