This is a very useful online plant database to find info on potential food, medicinal, or utility plants from the subtropical and tropical areas of the world.

Really one of my favorite sites.
I can greatly recomend. It has info on such a broad range of plants it's my first port of call when I hear of a new species or genus. No marketing they make a genuine attempt to be accurate and provide citations where possible.
I love the banana rating system for edibility  ;D
