Looks like this pitomba is a fruit bearing size. A small 1ft tall seedling costs $25-$30 online so definitely grab it if it is cheap.
Worth growing or not depends on your taste preference. Have you tasted it before? To me it did not taste like apricot, tasted similar to surinam cherries but i am keeping mine to see if the taste improves with time and nutrition. You could always let it fruit in the pot and if they don't taste good to you, sell it.

It can live in a pot its entire life ... That one looks nice and healthy

Fruiting season is May-June. I bought mine in mid June and had fruit for about 3 weeks.

There is another tree called a pitomba which is a totally different specie, make sure this is the Eugenia Luschnatiana.

It will need to be kept in a very large pot and root pruned to be kept in a pot its entire life.  A Pitomba is not a small shrub.  It may not be a fast grower but will reach 20-30 feet unless continually maintained (and not in a small pot).

Mike has some scions of a nice producing Pitomba if you are interested:

I managed to successfully graft one onto one of my seedling.... if I can do it... it must graft pretty easy!
