Not sure what you are looking at, MIke.  NOAA website and 7 day forecast shows a low of 40 on Saturday night and 47 for Sunday night at my place.  You should be right around the same.

Perhaps west of US 27.........moving the forecast point west of I-75, into Weston, still shows only a low of 38.  Hopefully its more hype than anything else.  They usually err to the colder side so that farmers or other folks can't say that they weren't warned.

For my old zip code 33029 which is far west pembroke pines and miramar, the lowest forecasted temp is 44 degrees. For my current zip code 33024, which is further east, the lowest forecasted temp is 43 degrees. I guess I live in a cool spot.

As a point of latitude comparison, I'm approximately 65 miles north of the Davie folks (Harry and Mike).  But since I'm so far east, my forecast is calling for just about the same lows, 43 Sunday morn and 47 Monday morn. What a difference the water makes.

That's good,we have had so little cold, rather be safe than sorry I moved some smaller things in,usually if we were having a normal winter I wouldn't really do much.but its been so warm,so long, like anything living I guess it will feel colder, now this is my own twisted theory,I am not a meteorologist or scientist, but they are usually guessing too!

Agreed.

Thanks again for the little Angie. She and a bunch of others will definitely be coming into the garage on Sat and Sun night.  No need to expose the potted plants to that much cold dry wind. For those that are just focused on the cold temp, don't forget about the dry NW wind.

I planted my two nice new jackfruit trees Thursday.  Naturally that would bring a late cold snap.  :'(

LOL.  OK, I give up with fiddling with the NOAA prediction site.  We were solidly at 40 as a low.  This morning it is now 38 as a low for tonight.  When I move the prediction point west, the low temp goes up, not down.  Something is wrong with their prediction point indicator.

I use intellicast.com. There is a station at Venus, which is only 5 miles from where I live. It is pretty accurate for my area. Pglvr is a bit farther north, but depends if she is near a lake or not. Some of the central lakes moderate the temperatures. I am counting my blessings this is happening on a weekend and I have plenty of time to bring things in or cover them. If this happens on a regular work day, I don't get started until evening.

Current prediction is 36 for tonight and 34 Sunday, but that is too close to count on.

Yes. I'm much further north and west, jammed between the Gulf of Mexico and Tampa Bay and my lows are 45 Sunday and 45 Monday. Tampa is expecting the upper 30s.

Harry I agree...it is very frustrating to say the least trying to keep up with all the predictions coming in. Its been like a roller coaster for me,lol...

Erica, NO lake for me unfortunately...All we can do is hope it won't be too bad. Most of my trees are too big to cover now.
I'll protect the ones I can and hope for the best.

Dan, I hope your Jackfruit trees will be okay.

Forecast of 42 as a low but this is still an advisory:

WIND CHILL VALUES...A NORTHWEST WIND BETWEEN 10 AND 15 MPH
ALONG WITH TEMPERATURES AROUND 40 TO THE MID 40S WILL RESULT
IN WIND CHILL READINGS OF 28 TO 34 DEGREES FOR SEVERAL HOURS.
