I have a soft spot for my african pride and gefner trees but new pinks mammoth had better fruit.I should never have tried all the new atemoyas because me and the african pride are not getting on as well any more.It may pay the ultimate price if there is any incontinence next season and the gefner is also on probation now.

Best cultivar of a fruit is like the fastest human runner, that is constantly changing as new athletes break the old records. Similarly with fruits, out with the old and in with the new better improved ones. But that doesn't make yesterday's favorites bad, junk, or trashy.

Fruitlovers I agree about renewal and in the last little while many of my trees have volunteered for mulch patrol.Kepel, minneola, navel, acerola, sharwil avo,red malay guava, various sapodillas,a black sapote,an ambarella and an imperial and ellendale mandarins have been cut from the backyard team recently. If they are not team players for one reason or another they contribute in another way.
