I'm offering seed for sale of this new selected variety. The tree was selected and exhibits high productivity, excellent chewy dark purple/red skin, inside has firm white meaty flesh with a raspberry juice flavor, relative low seed count, it is an 'easy peel' sugar apple. For more details check this thread: http://tropicalfruitforum.com/index.php?topic=25267.0 (http://tropicalfruitforum.com/index.php?topic=25267.0)
To purchase seeds please visit my website as its easier to deal with orders that way. seeds are now 10 seeds for $20. get them before they are gone.

Still have seeds available. last call before I plant them all!
-
I'd buy 2 packs but $10 to ship 10 seeds is a bit too much. I hope it's just a website calculation error.

nice fruit!

All seeds I've planted have germinated. Planted back in the super heat and rain Aug/Sept
-
Bought 7. One sprouted :) .
(moist vermiculite in a Ziploc bag)
-
2 out of 7 between damp paper towels
so far
-
I got 2 of 6 so far. I think one or two were black at the pointed end, maybe insect damage?
-
4 of 6 sprouted
-
I've had 4 sprout.
-
None of mine sprouted.
Will be waiting scions.
-
I had only 1 sprout
-
Sorry to hear you guys are getting no germination. I got 5 out of 5 to germinate. Maybe post methods that everyone is using to germinate.
-
I had 3 seeds eaten by rodents during Irma's aftermath, but I have 1 which has sprouted and about 2 inches tall, planted in a Jiffy peat pellet.
-
I got one of six so far, just planting them in small pots.

I am curious what method you used to get 5 out of 5?

What my dad does with the sugar apple seeds is to test its buoyancy. If the seeds are buoyant, then it won't germinate.

I soak the seeds in R.O. water with a drop or two of nitrozyme added. Seeds are left soaking in small baggy with the water for about 24hr.
I then use a 16oz water bottle and use a coir/peat moss petite seed starting mix. The seeds are planted with a light layer of mix covering.
I make sure the mix is lightly damp. I then add another table spoon or two of water over the seeds. Seal up the container with tape and make a small slit on the cap and slits foe drainage.
Container is placed inside a corner of a grow tent with an LED grow light. Temps range between 76 when lights out and 85 with lights on.
-
Now you all have me worried mine won't germinate. I'm hoping for the best.
-
1 out of 6.
Still waiting for others to sprout.

soak seed for 24 hrs with clean water changes every 8 hours. Seeds will float if dry but after soaking should sink. A quick dip in a fungicide wouldn't hurt either before planting. Plant in sterile growing medium. a commercial seed starting mix with peat in perlite works fine.

Here are mine

i always squeeze the seeds for before planting, pretty hard too...if they have any give (hollow feeling) they're worthless.

I have also found the float test to be worthless. I do the squeeze test like adam.

I got one of six to germinate. Still waiting for others. Soaked 24 hours then planted in Perlite/peat with bottom heat. I still want to graft a scion to get true to type when they become available in the Spring. (Please hold one for me Luke.)
-
when will scions be available?
-
Follow-up. The one seedling that sprouted dampened off and died. Still no other seeds have sprouted. This is strange as I have planted many Annonas before and usually get high rates of germination. I have many 1-2 year old seedlings ready to be grafted onto. I hope I can get a scion from you Luke when they become available.
-
will there be any scions for sale soon?
