Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Sacha Inchi seeds? (Plukenetia volubilis)
« on: November 12, 2017, 06:41:49 PM »
Hi Guys
Have an over abundance of Inca Nut growing here
Lots of seed available for trade
There actually not all that hard to clean-if you leave them out in the sun the outer layer cracks and the seed pods fall right out
They will keep for months like this and remain viable
A little more work to remove the inner husk-but defiantly easier after roasting

3
Trade seed to and from Aus all the time
Less restrictive on outgoing seed
Import bureau has large list of allowed imports-just download there PDF files
Its really quite extensive

4
It'll turn a lighter color and the surface will get soft when ripe
I just cut open and spoon it out
My all time favorite passion-fruit variety
Also eaten as vegetable when still firm-Makes a great addition to soup and stew

Pimenta dioica

What is Allspice Pimenta? Allspice comes from the dried, green berries of Pimenta dioica. This member of the myrtle family (Myrtaceae) is found in the Central American countries of Guatemala, Mexico, and Honduras and was presumably brought there by migratory birds. It is indigenous to the Caribbean, specifically Jamaica, and was first identified around 1509 with its name being a derivative of the Spanish word “pimiento,” meaning pepper or peppercorn.

Just trying all possible names -hoping to get some seed
Impossible to get over here without growing myself
