You should graft instead of asking for seed mustang as it'll take a few years to fruit and it might not be true to the mother tree.

Very nice Sam.  I love dr white too.

Do you need to hand pollinate ? Is it chewy?

Probabaly yes.  It's juicy and has a chewy texture to it.  Very similar to an atemoya.  I tried it at ong a few years ago.

Good to know.  Mine is not ready for picking yet.  I'll leave it on the tree till it turns more yellow.  Thanks Brandon.

Is that fruit a goner? Last year, I picked it right away and it just gone black after a few days.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Is cherimoya better than atemoya?

I personally prefer atemoya over cherimoya because of taste and texture.  Cherimoyas are fillers for me. For the cherimoya expert, can I get the names for the varieties below? Got these from my neighbor and they were delicious.  All from seedlings.

We have most of the same fruits.  Just visit the local market and see what's in season.  Good luck and enjoy your trip.

Finally get to try frank's randhir today.  OMG!!! What a feast for my wife and I with this 2-3 pounder!  It was so juicy, sweet, chewy, not grainy, and big.  Seeds to flesh ratio was very good.  It was like eating 4-5 na when we were in vn.  It had all of the characteristics that I look for in an atemoya.  Such a delicious treat.  I gave the two pink mammoth my parents.  Will report back on the birula when I try it tomorrow.  I'm OD on atemoya tonight.  Thanks frank for this yummy treat.  Can't wait to get more from you when available again.

Anyone know where I can get one of these trees? Preferably an easy pick up in the south Florida area?

Jani,

Frank started selling scions for this variety a few weeks ago.  Get in before it's gone.

Just finished these grafts for a fellow member.  Hopefully, it'll be a sucess.

But check out the second pic below for Frank's giant Randhir and birula.  Both are so big compare to my AP and Lisa.  Almost as big as the watermelon I got from Costco.

A few months.  Best thing is to watch the new growths.  Let the new shoots come out between 6-12 inches.  You can then unwrap the tape to check.  Most grafting tapes are biodegradable so you won't even need to unwrap.

I also saw your questions about germinating seeds. I normally soak mine in water for a few days until I get around to put it in potting soil.  The seeds that float are no good.  You can just throw those away.

The only sweet and chewy ones I know are: African pride, geffner, and Lisa.

Frank- do you have anything else to recommend him?

Hi dragon,

I found a new member molo who wants to do a joint order. You're more than welcome to do it with us.  The saving is about $25 bucks for me since I don't need all 10 scions (limit 10).  I don't even have enough rootstock to graft 10 anyways so it'll go to waste.  Which part of town are you in?  I work around the Mira Mesa area. You can stop by to pick up once the order arrive.

I'll wait until tomorrow to place the order with frank just in case other members want to join in.
