Did someone take a shit under your tree to get the flies Mark? I've never seen a fly in my yard on a flower. Good luck to you...I know you had a rough winter. Chris
Not that I know of.
I have some really strange pollinators, 100's of them at any given time. Those are houseflies, have others that have that shiny blue butt....so purty! Bees, moths, butterflies. Being in the country helps.
I have the little flies on my flowers too mark. You aren't alone.
I'll add the backyard soon but editing this is getting crazy.
I'm open to trying a different format if anyone has suggestions
Kahaluu can go as high as 28% oil. We have a whole range of avocados here from watery West Indian types to very high oil types, and everything in between. I believe we have a bigger selection of cultivars here than anywhere else in USA. There are so many available for sale. Unfortunately most vendors don't label the cultivar names.
This poster lists 107 types grown here, and it only scratches the surface of what's available.

I have a Four Winds Yuzu. it's been about 4 years since I purchased it from OSH. it has a cluster of fruits ripen at the moment. I recall the fruits usually turned yellow in the winter. not sure why it's different this year. I am concern with the deadly HLB virus in California and I am not sure on the policy regarding scion distribution.
some I talked to the people from the nursery where the tree came from (end of june) They said that some trees take longer to recover from shipping stress. I guess I still need to wait and hope it will decide soon to put out some new growth.
I have been told by some people working at nurseries that it can be controlled at about 15-20 feet. Is that about the height that you have tried to maintain you Fuerte at?
About right. Reachable thru the right picker. And it produced plenty of quality fruits last winter.
