check out this one of a kind jabuticabeira

on the left we have Plinia coronata var. Restinga, and on the right we have, Plinia phitrantha var. Otto Anderson.

both varieties are relatively precocious, so I'm hoping it turns out to be a good match.

The tree is still at least 5yr away from fruiting.

I'm not sure if I want to keep it, or sell it... :D

Nice Adam, I don't remember did you ever make a Cocktail tree that's of good size ( meaning tree maybe 5-6'-fruiting with multi-grafted varieties on it?) just wondering ???

i have a big cocktail tree very close to having more than one type fruiting..the red has started...now grimal is right behind...yet to flower...maybe this year?

also white will start soon after, or maybe before?

the truncilfora portion of the tree is still years away from fruiting, but is about 4yrs from grafting already...i've had to prune it heavy..repeatedly

just added cambuca, phitrantha otto anderson, and esalq, and paulista...lol

those are still years away...

some will fruit more than others...some will skip years...and some probably will take years to fruit if ever...

the rootstock should fruit soon though...in about 3-5yrs?  so that's another variety to consider...(Sabara)

I have a similar tree, large Sabara that I have been grafting onto for the past year and I finally took a minute to count up everything I have grafted to the tree. I will admit i went a bit overboard and could have made better decisions with spacing and I would have grafted closer to the trunk. My intention was really to have a place to start a collection because I do not have the space for all the trees I want.

Current tally is:
5 Grimal
5 Paulista
4 White
1 Coronata var. restinga
1 Red
4 Novak Sour
2 Phitrantha Otto Anderson
1 Phitrantha (not sure which kind)
1 Cambuca

I still have a few spots left to add to the collection. Big thanks and shout out to Flying Fox Fruits for the guidance and scions!

Recently top worked this 15gal Sabara with a handful or rare plinia. The majority are a smaller leafed aureana from Puerto Rico and Otto Andersen with a sprinkling or red variants, and scarlet. I hoping for a nice tree in a few years!
