Purple Star Apple/Caimito
« on: September 15, 2012, 07:37:35 PM »
Hello Friends,

I have a Purple Star Apple that I have had for a couple of years.  It was a lot bigger, about 5' feet tall but it was damaged and ultimately had to be cut back to about 2'-3' feet.  It has bounced back pretty nicely and I believe that it is flowering.  Take a look at the pictures and tell me what you think.  It is absolutely covered with what I believe are flowers.

If anyone has experience with with this Fruit tree, can you tell me if they are in fact flowers?

Thanks,

Jacob

They're not flowers, they are miniature mushrooms growing on the tree.  ::) Yes ofcourse they are flowers! ;) What variety is it?

How long do Caimitos take to flower from seed. I believe that I have a seeedling, its been in the ground 4 years and is approximately 20 ft tall, but it hasn't flowered. I think its was 2-3 years old when I bought it.
