what poison to pick, to kill scale insects on my pouteria?

I have been fighting a battle with them on my abiu also.  Time for the big guns...gotta go systemic: 75% Imidacloprid (commercial grade) such as Xytect, Merit, Criterion, etc...or, Dinotefuran, such as Safari, Transtect, Venom, etc.

I will be using Venom.

Adam...I've found using a high strength mixture of horticultural oil has worked very well in the past for me.  I pruned the tree first to give me better access and then made a couple applications a week or so apart.  My only problem was the oily residue in the greenhouse.  You wouldn't have that issue.

I hit my 9 inch abiu seedlings in my shade house with neem oil @ 1.5 oz per gal two weeks ago and they are fine.
