Is this strictly ornamental or do you have any use for it?
The only folks I know that use them nuts are OLD Vietnamese women  ;D

All the people from Micronesian islands here also chew betel nut. Be careful trying to buy seeds from other countries as it is prohibited by law into USA.

It is popular here with NG people and several other melanesian groups as well as a few SE Asian groups as well. There seem to be a number of betel nut types from different sources with yellow, red and orange fruit and different colors inside the seed.I have not heard of dwarf types.

To my knowledge, betel nut is used from India to S. China, Southeast asia, Melanesia and Micronesia but depends on cultural ties. I have seen dwarf trees (online pics) in India and in person in Thailand but it is not widespread. Here on Guam in the western pacific, we have "red" and "white" (actually a bit of pale pink). Hybrids range between multiple shades of dk. maroon to light pink. It gives a slight "high" when chewed with lime n piper leaf. Medicinal n decorative palm. :)

Dwarf betel palms is here in Hawaii. I think it's mostly planted by palm collectors as decorative plant, not for chewing.

Stock up on toothbrushes!

I was going to ask you why and if they stained the teeth. I googled "betel nut palm teeth" and saw some nasty pictures. :o

There are betel nut chewers here on island and it is well-known to locals who chew that if you wish to avoid red stained teeth, avoid chewing with piper leaf. Piper leaf gives the concoction a dark-red tint, much like blood.

This is where your dentist's nightmare begins, so beware the piper leaf! Your teeth will thank you.  ;)
