Whatever the # is, its a great mango.

All 7 mangos i opened were polyembryonic.

What could be the the parent or is it another renamed variety?

I planted two '40-26' seeds and they both came up mono.

I cut out my 13 year old Hak Ip and Emperor. Trees were treated through the Palm Beach County Dept of Ag funding. They had sub-contractors come out and prune tree to only scaffolding branches. Then they had some company come out and spray the trees every week for a few months. Mites came right back. There are other infected trees in my neighborhood and I just saw another lychee tree get planted across the street.

When talking with Dept of Ag they said that they dont think they can do much to stop it, at least my area its too prevalent.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Butterscotch sapodilla questions
« on: May 15, 2023, 10:36:15 AM »

I had 10 x 15g Butterscotch growing next to each other and got 3 fruits total from them. I sold all except one and planted it and put an 'Excalibur' sap next to it in ground and its fruited a couple times and now has 6 fruit on it. I've heard from another person growing Butterscotch that they had same issue until they planted another sapodilla near by.

60

These are the last of the scions I'll have for a while. Just pruned tree.

(Sold) shipped priority. Will come wrapped in buddy tape.

 Agreed...looks like my M-4.

What's your review of Regina versus Zill Dark?

I think the 'Regina' is the best one Ive tried of the darker colored unifloras. Regina gets sweeter than Zill Dark, no resin and less of that uniflora type flavor. I'll have to do a Brix.

 Pitangatuba seeds x 40 shipped for $25 (priority mail w/ tracking #)

My tree came from Flying Fox

I have a Pitomba flowering and fruiting directly next to this pitangatuba and hand pollinated a lot of the flowers with each other. So there is a chance for a hybrid.

'Chica Negra'

A couple people that tried this both thought it had a grape flavor to it. Small fruit like var Dasyblasta and smoother ribs.

something new!
Has a milder Suriname cherry taste with no after taste.

mine fruited for first time too. They seem to keep improving in brix. The last one was a brix of 18 and good flavor. I picked it early too, at least I thought i did...

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Grafts on my Lucuma seedling
« on: April 08, 2023, 04:16:28 PM »

I did four grafts of the Pecan Pie on my in-ground seedling Lucuma thats about 4.5 years old and three failed while one is pushing now. I did cleft grafts on all of them.

73
I have two of these I need to get rid of. They’ve already flowered. I will also trade for another grafted caimito.
