I have one 7 gallon Namwa and one 7 gallon Blue Java available. I have one 15 gallon Blue Java but it is supposed to be picked up and paid for today. If that doesn't happen then it is available.

Here is another bummer regarding Top Tropical.  I have a Dot from them.  It is growing so well and disease free that I think it is mislabeled!  Since I got it, to replace my Dot that died from disease, I have thought that I have either really figured out how to keep it growing well or it is mislabeled.  The sad truth is, it is also probably mislabeled.

Top Tropical stikes again!  I swear someone needs to burn that place down.  I'm not very happy to hear that diagnosis.  I was thinking the fruit was too larger and almost Edward shaped.  The red blush doesn't help either.  The real bummer is, this tree is very disease resistant and a good grower here in my cool SoCal location.  I'll have to wait and taste the fruit.  If I like it I guess I'll have to properly ID it.

Thanks for the advice.

Can someone please call Top Tropical and tell them they shipped another mislabeled tree.  That place sucks.

These two are way bigger then any of the other mangoes.  The one on the right looks pretty close to ready to me.

Thanks.  Should I just go by color?  How about if the fruit "gives" to pressure?  Or if the stem breaks easily when fruit is put at a 90 degree angle?

I wanted to pull up this old topic and ask a question instead of starting a new topic.  For optimal taste when should a Gary be picked?  I have several that look to be getting close.

I was out of town for the heat wave so I couldn't adjust my watering or protect any plants.  I was told it reached almost 110 in Long Beach.  Amazingly only a couple plants got sun burned.  A couple of my blackberry plants wilted.  My Grumichama has burned leaves all over it and dropped a lot of fruit.  My two foot Sharwil Avocado also got burned badly.  A couple of my mangos got burned but nothing too bad.  And my Lemon Zest keeps dropping almost all its fruit.  They split and then drop off the tree but I guess that is for another post.

Family J, are you saying the Kauai Sugarloaf has no spines on the plant and the Kona Sugarloaf does?  I just want to clarify.  I pulled all my Kona Sugarloafs because the spines where ripping me apart.

Good thinking and nice looking plant.  What variety is it?  It sounds like you are building a very impressive collection of fruit trees.

To be on the safe side I would look over that tree very closely for lychee mites. They are having an outbreak in Florida now. You wouldn't want to bring that bug here to California. Better safe then sorry.

Wow, that was fast. Orange Sherbert in SoCal.  Good luck.  I hope it proves to be a winner.

my gosh, that is a small seed!

The 4-6 leaf seedlings are about 6" tall and are still for sale.  They are almost a year old.   The larger almost two foot tall plant I believe is sold.  I'm awaiting payment.  It is about 3-4 years old.

I have never heard of these. What do you know about them?

I would wait until you get a second fruit off of both trees. If they look the same I would contact both sellers and ask for a replacement. Top Tropical sent me a wrong mango tree and replaced it when I sent them photos of the fruit. This is clearly the fault of both nurseries. We pay too much for mango trees in SoCal to get misidentified trees.

Thanks for the heads up.

Hi Rodney, how big is your mother plant?  Has it fruited yet?  Mine got about six feet tall and then got hammered by a cold winter. I have since moved a pup to a warmer spot.
