Last few bits of land need 20 foot or less trees.
« on: August 24, 2017, 08:21:56 PM »
So have pretty much and sadly limited my open planting areas, and only have swale space left. there are some lines about 20ft up, and prefer to not have to heavily prune. Anything else besides a low vigor mango?? Just looking for ideas. Thanks

While completely heretical for this forum and technically not "trees", you could plant certain bananas (dwarf nam wah, raja puri, etc.) and stay under that height.

Would not want bananas in a swale (along a roadway).

Alano sapodilla

The Alano by the road at excal is a beauty.  Seems like sapodilla would be easy to hack back every now and then too.

If you can get a good Kwai muk that might make sense.
Don't think most people would steal a fruit that looks like that.

I was thinking of planting on my swale before the city stepped in and demanded a shade tree.
My plan was to plant some green eating mangos, so i don't have to worry much about theft
