Looking for Pineapple varieties
« on: June 17, 2018, 02:35:48 AM »
Hello,

in one week I'll be in New York anyone know where I can buy pineapple fruits of particular varieties (for example white shade, red spanish, smooth cayenne, sugarloaf) in order to take crowns and bring them in the suitcase ?

Or anyone know a seller who can send ...even if it would be better to bring only crowns and not rooted plants.

thanks

Google is your friend.   I bought White Jade and Sugarloaf from Wellspring Gardens.  Nice plants.

Between White Jade & Sugarloaf, which do you prefer?

Haven't tried either thanks to a heater freeze last Jan.   I had 5' wide White Jade ready to fruit this year.  Am starting over.  I'd recommend both of the whites and a few of the golds.   I have real good luck with "twistees", tops.  Fruit is sugar sweet.
