How To Reach High Mulberries?
« on: July 19, 2018, 10:47:27 AM »
Has anyone invented a pole picker for small fruit like mulberries? My pole picker works fine for larger fruit, but is useless for mulberries. I might try lining my current picker with something to try to keep the berries from falling out.

When I visited a local mulberry orchard, they kept the trees heavily pruned to manageable picking height.

Prune tree heavily after fruiting to keep smaller and easier to access...

shake the tree.
only the ripe ones fall which works fine for me.
plastic tarp on the ground can help.

also, ive use a pole with a plastic bottle on the end
bottom cut out, top taped into the pole.
1 litre drink bottles work OK.
