Lemon tree has large leaves
« on: April 02, 2019, 03:50:40 AM »
Hi all. I hope someone can help please. Firstly I am not remotely green fingered but bought myself a lemon tree around a year ago. It has been trial and error ever since but I am getting better at it. It is is direct sunlight and is a healthy green colour and always flowering. However in the last month or so it has grown the most huge leaves around 8" long compared too the normal 3". The are at the end of the top most branches. I keep reading about suckers but look nothing like the ones I chop off my rose bush and they are not Growing from the trunk. Other than these crazy large leaves it seems happy and healthy. Are these leaves normal please? Thanks all:)

Extra large leaves on a lemon tree happens quite frequently.

I have heard that citrus trees grow larger leaves due to not enough light.  I have no first hand knowledge of this so not sure if it is true.

I have two lemon trees growing inside my greenhouse.  They get PLENTY of light and still produce some very large leaves every now and then,
