People in America have a great gesture!
From the initial price of USD 0.1, they have now been up to over USD 500 in one day! and two days to the end. This is a great achievement for this unique plant slightly larger than a large foot. Im very impressed! Do you think Adam that it will "break" 1000 USD?

I do not know how others are reading but I feel encouraged to grow similar plants. And it's not only about money, but also an interestingly illustrated physiognomy of a mother's tree, which is very interesting :) On the other hand, with the eyes of my imagination, I see that in a moment 1/3 of the crew of this forum will starting to cultivate plinia ;)

You and hundreds of others are interested in those, but I would be very surprised if you're able to get scions like those shipped to germany unless you're volunteering to pay a truly excessive premium for it.

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to drop in and say I love you.

And I wish I had the energy to respond to every email inquiry, but I don't.

I choose to run a small operation by myself with no employees for now, and want to produce as many trees as I can.   I have been doing this full time for a while now, 110% dedicated to Plinias and rare fruit trees...and I have no intentions of slowing down.

For now, I will be selling on ebay, mostly through the auction process (I will post a link to my ebay store below).

Soon i hope to get my website revamped, and also maybe hire a friend to field my email inquiries, and help ship.

In the meantime, there seems to be some amazing new sources for grafted Plinias popping up to help satisfy demand.  Most of them are in FL, TX, and CA, and are people I've known for years, or personally have met, and i think highly of them all...be sure to check out some other nurseries.  (if you are grafting Plinias -or rare fruit-, and have supported my nursery in the past, go ahead a post a shout out to me here, so people can find you, and your products.  I will allow you to post once to get your name out to my customers).

Once again, i just wanted to drop in, and express my love for everyone who has been so excited and supportive over the years....i can't think of any other hobby/profession/past time, that has the capability of bringing so many people together, from so far around the world, and of so many languages/cultures, and age groups.  I'm so thankful to know you all, and to have the opportunity to share ideas, and food with you.

I don't think of rare fruit growing as a hobby, or even a profession, it's more a way of living, and i think more people every day are seeing the value in growing their own food, and keeping fruit trees, which are in a sense, appreciating assets.

I'm really excited to share some more ideas, and rare plants with you soon.  I have many new varieties I've selected that are being evaluated, and slated for release!!

Yours truly,

At least Plinia is tasty!  I remember people buying Phrag. kovachii for 10 times that just a few years ago... Not to mention the whole tulip-bulbs story :)
Also, well deserved Adam for great work with Plinias!

Adam, we love and support your work.

Adam posted earlier that he doesn’t have time to reply to emails so you’ll just have to keep your eyes out for his EBay auctions if you’re looking for something.

I just won his EBay auction for a Cambuca, I’m so excited! You rock Adam!

Adam, thank you for your dedication and hard work to please your customers, I have had first hand experience buying from Adam both privately and via eBay in the past. The guy is a pleasure to deal with, and quick to take care of any issues. I have purchased many rare Plinia scions, rare Garcinia plants and seeds and I am very satisfied every time.

BIG THANK YOU!! without you my collection would be so boring ..

Thanks,
Jozeph

It looks like the best selling season for plants in the USA is over. People think about holidays. This time, after one day your tree reaches the price of about 300 USD. It may also be a matter of less favorable trunk appearance. Usually, however, such slightly twisted plants develop very well, and such twisting is of no great importance.

Happy for you bro, those look like pretty decent (insanely good) prices for trees on eBay.  Outside my price range unfortunately but it's good to know your craft is appreciated and rewarded.  Keep it up.

Orkine, the price (outside the classical one: the price regulates the demand) in this case is a derivative of two things:
1) The American market is almost hermetic (closed) and formally practically blocked for producers from the rest of the world. The official reason for pest control; however, the matter is more complex and can mainly be based on reborn protectionism.
2) A small supply of similar plants in the US (with the option of shipping and purchasing via the Internet) with an excess of buyers. Hence the price that similar trees achieve. In poorer countries it is possible to mass produce such trees at a price of USD 20-40 USD max. So in poorer regions price level higher than 50-100 USD  is only an unfulfilled dream of producers.

Despite this perspective, I agree with you that the price achieved by Adam on eBay is extremely good.

Dominic, I believe the value is representative of the true market for this very unusual variety.  You can get other Jabos for much less, but they are not 'Anomaly'.

I love free market dictating prices, this is nowhere in the range of Tulip mania in Europe in the 1600s but even if it went there I would still be good with it.  May even sell a tree or two to buy a house :)

Orkin, I agree with you. Thanks to the generous patron who buy unique plants, rewarding the efforts of producers - progress and dissemination of new varieties is possible.  Sure you can buy a house for a unique tree; just like a small but very sought-after picture, you can buy 5 or 50 houses. Spectacular market laws :)

However, I often meet situations when governments over-regulate the market. Hence the mention of protectionism (which, of course, can affect prices).

Each variant/plant can be copied very quickly, it causes a drop in price. It is unfavorable for the producer and the government, but very beneficial for customers. Hence, the information that the market quickly reduces such price differences (if governments do not interfere in this).

Of course, this is a loose discussion and I wish Adam a success and a raise of at least USD 500 for his plant and work...
