Tropical Fruit Discussion / Anybody Else's potted Cogshall struggling?
« on: April 15, 2015, 08:07:28 AM »
I have my cogshall in a 7 gallon pot and it bloomed flowers, however shortly after the new leaves that bloomed curled up and fell off, it bloomed again and the bloom looked promising, however the leaves are green curling up and falling off., I have sprayed neem oil copper and citrus nutritional along with fertilizing to see if it helps but the tree looks like its dying. Most of my leaves are falling off green and the leaves are curled instead of being flat. I will try to provide pictures later today.

On my carrie the mangos that did look promising ended up splitting any reason why? i haven't been watering.

this is frustrating.

As the title says. Most local nurseries don't carry it checking in to see who does. This is an addition that I definitely want to add.

both trees have been sold!

reason why I ask, I have three of them they are green and red, no yellowing yet, would like them to fall off ripe, but now I am seeing small black sports on mine, don't know if I should take them off, i will provide pictures later. Also I notice these crystal like drops on the mangoes? look like water drops except they are stuck on the mango.

Would like to get them ripe before I take them off rather than let ripen on the counter,r but If i need to save it form the spot spreading then I will.

well I am, these suckers are devouring my Kent mango tree which I severely cut in order for it to grow right. they are starting to attack my other mango trees new leaves. Need to know what to use to kill these suckers. I have tried malathion oil and nothing, they continue to eat hump and reproduce like its going out of style. anyone else have a problem with these guys go out at night and if you see small brown black beetles like the size of lady bugs they are it they jump and fly so they are hard to kill.

Looking for a solution will post pics of the damage tomorrow during daylight.

Well on my spirit of 76 is loaded with tiny mangos, now anything I can do to help these mangos make it over the next couple of months to full maturity?

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Big beetles on mango flowers doing harm?
« on: February 25, 2014, 06:51:26 PM »
Hey guys so far I have spotted and killed two big beetles on the mango flowers, I believe they are eating the flowers but now I want to make sure. any insects to keep a look out for who might be damaging/ eating the flowers?

I know the house flies and bees assist with pollination of the flowers, so those guys are cool to stay. Haven't seen any bees around though. just the house flies.

Hey guys just wondering what is the best place to buy a citrus cocktail tree with many grafted citrus varieties on it. I know Home Depot sells them but at max they might have four varieties and just wondering if there are more trees with more grafted varieties on them. thanks in advance.

On my Kent Mango tree still pretty small purchased as a three gallon, i noticed the tree is not growing where I placed the stake for support so it doesn't fall over in the wind. I recently removed the stake to see if I can get the tree to grow on that side and when I removed it, it fell over on the heavier side, but did not brake. I have since just tied yarn to tree and fence to support the tree to give it strength to stand on its own. I hope it grows on the other side where the stake was.

Anyone else have a similar problem? was I wrong in using a stake for support?

Has anyone tried this with mango trees? has it been successful?

I am thinking incorporating two dwarf trees and a large tree, still trying to determine if this is possible with mangos
