I appreciate the link but would hardly include this link among the top resources for grafting mangos.  This link includes no photos, but more importantly, it does not stress the importance of swelling buds on the scion wood.

My first mango grafts were failures until I learned the importance of choosing scion wood that is ready to grow, as evidenced by swollen buds.

The link also fails to stress the importance of cambian layer contact.

I'm not an expert on this, and hope others will share their opinion on this.

Between my sprained bloody ankle and checking on my grafts every other hour, I went looking for something to read.  Forgot how I came across that link but it was written by a former grade school teacher so I took it with a grain of salt.   If you haven't noticed reading through the steps, read again to see if you can spot the words "grafting knife" and all the other exciting "tools" used.

Unfortunately, linking to that page improves its ranking with the search engines.

Good one Tim!  I love the part about using an axe to make a 2 inch slit.

Good one Tim!  I love the part a out using an axe to make a 2 inch slit.

Also, watch out for ice damage on your new mango graft!

I think the person who wrote that just replaced the word "apple" or some other temperate fruit with mango to make those instructions.
