New Lychees keep on coming

On offer at some nurseries in eastern Australia are a number of new improved varieties. Here is an example where premium varieties are much more expensive to buy. There is much more going on than just erdon lee and seedless and this nursery seems to be dropping quite a few older varieties and doesn't even have fai zee siu. I am sure the same will will happen in California and Florida very soon and this could be a glimpse of the near future. Surprisingly they don' have 4 or 5 excellent varieties some other nurseries have.

Wha I should say is that these varieties have taken 5 to 10 years o get in general circulation and make it to he nurseries. I suspect some of the current standards may fade away before long as there is perhaps only room for 10 varieties out of the 40 or so in the country to be popular. Erdon Lee and big seedless lychees will be around and prominent from now on I think.

That Erdon looks wild! I don’t suppose they’d ship marcotts to Florida.. or even seeds?

Thanks for the info Mike! I absolutely love Lychees. I can’t wait to visit China again to gorge on Lychees.

Appears o be a selection of FZS and perhaps not as large as is typical for FZS.

Majority  of my fruit is bigger then ping pong size funny thing is my Brothers tree fruit is a bit smaller and turns all red vs mine ...fruit is good size but majority stays partially green.  We bought it at the same nursery and same time.  Also we live only 10mins away.
