Hello guys
I am moving to another house in about 2 weeks...The E. aff Polyclada as i call it is fruiting right now and there will be about 30-40 seeds.
So by leaving behind this plant or (if i may try to take it in a container) there may be no more of these for years. These are different from the wild E. Polyclada i have seen before and the plant is slightly taller with bigger fruit. Idk if it's genetic variation or it might be slightly mixed with another species. I don't sell seeds anymore but if there's enough interest i can send them to Bellamy with a permit.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / My annonaceae some pictures
« on: January 06, 2023, 05:24:50 PM »
Some pictures requested by a friend, fellow annona collector and other friends who started this adventure of collecting annonas in an effort to try to collect save some species from extinction. So many thanks to Saltman,JoeP450,Tropical Fruit Bonsai, mikesid and others :)
who read my rants and such as we are investigating documentation and looking for seeds and plants for annonas from the caribbean region.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

First things first this is the annona found in "Barreras" province of Azua...the seedling has shown some good progress.
Found and given to me in a trip when searching for a.dumetorum
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What we have here is the controversial annona bought from the JBN(national botanical park) of santo domingo...which are supposed to be a.dumetorum as well but show a phenotype with long and thin leaves that made some people think it's actually another species. So we are still trying to find out...

annona "Barreras" compared to JBN "long leaf" annona.

My annona Urbaniana plants.

annona Barreras compared to a.urbaniana

all of the 3 endemic rare annonas collected so far, left urbaniana, center "Barreras" and right JBN.

So i was given the phone number of a farmer who grows all this stuff in the Dominican Republic and it's low-mid elevation like 180mt...sure it's not sea level that would be a bit too much but still a bit shocked....

Ultra tropicals like Breadfruit
tropicals:Coconut,Mango,Cambuca
subtropicals:Guaviyu,Litchi,Cherimoya Cumbe(for you ppl in florida),Capulin cherry
and even temperate stuff like real cherries and peaches all growing at the same place(that has little to no cold)!!!

Which means you can grow all this stuff in a slightly tropical-subtropical place if you find the right varieties.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Diospyros Discolor-Mabolo Flowering
« on: May 05, 2022, 04:26:39 PM »

So these are 4 mabolo trees(if i'm not wrong)...very old trees and the locals believed it was mangosteen(but obviously not)

Not sure when exactly these will turn into fruit but the only time i found a fruit there, was small and no seeds inside but it tasted quite good. I have one seedling from tradewinds but as you know this is dioecious so i want at least 4 plants.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / technically not lying...don't get scared
« on: March 14, 2022, 07:19:50 PM »
yep too late don't get scared when you get your seed packs and you see one of these. this idea was given to me today hey just say you're sending thingies like to make toys for kids. i'm like hmmm i bought these eyes to repel birds away from my seedlings so when you move the pack the sound of the eyes will totally negate the sound of the seeds..

hi, i want to send these packages.
what are you sending sir?
homemade toys for kids?
and what else?
stuff from dominican republic like little souveniers hehe :)

Tropical Fruit Discussion / ga3 mixing.
« on: January 23, 2022, 11:20:34 AM »
so i took all my annona seed. new seed and others that have not sprouted yet in a few months and also ilama seeds i had stored. now i opened a progib 40 sg small pack. it says 2.5gr...after pouring some of it in a 0.75L vase pf water but wasn't doing much with the TDS meter. so i put all of it which should have been a lot but then it would only read 115 ppm max so i took it all the liquid and heat it up almost boiling it and then after cooling it went to 132 ppm. now it's down to 128 ppm. should be way more than this maybe 10 times more idk what i did wrong xD but anyways i used all this liquid with my seeds idk if will do anything. help
