Grafting wax for mangoes?
« on: September 23, 2019, 10:22:10 AM »
Anybody using grafting wax when grafting mangoes? If so how you use it? What I'm getting is to just paint it over the union. It's it necessary?

I don't use wax for my mango grafts. The Buddy Tape I use stays in place long enough for the
union to take.

I don't use it.  1/2" plastic grafting tape (we get it from AM Leonard) works well.

Hey bud Im usually not one to stop people from trying new things but you honestly dont need it.  Buddy tape will be more than sufficient.  Im not the best in the world but I do a pretty good job at it and buddy tape is definitely something special.  I wish you the best.

Take Care,

Alex

Could be useful when bark grafting on a big branch.
I prefer buddy tape in most situations.
