Supposed to the yellow sap is toxic enough to hurt you and kill you .
Supposedly only takes one full teaspoon to kill you . So you do have to process it and remove the yellow sap .

I'm pretty sure it's Dendrocalamus asper but like try to 100% identify it ?
The cut piece of cane of bamboo have a wall thickness of an inch and caliber of 5 inches and it smaller than the new shoots at estimate about 7 to 8 inches and it about 70 ft tall .
The new shoots have find a little hairs to protect it from bugs and pest .
It's a edible variety .

Cool! I've tried growing apples a times but always killed em. Right now I have a tropic sweet in the ground. I'll see how it does. I had an Anna also, but that died. I may have to replant in order to get any fruit.

The Dorsett Golden should be self pollinating since the story of its origin was a single tree planted from seed in the Bahamas, and when they went to cut it down they saw it had fruit.
Exactly I think the reason why some people think they're not it's just because there's a lot of website saying you need to have an Anna or some other Apple tree most likely just to make another quick sale .
I did hear about other self-pollinating apples but I know it's not the norm .

Yeah it will sprout you just have to be careful not to overwater them.
bromelia pinguin is very similar and to be honest or kind of dangerous with some really wicked thorns on the edge of the leaves
And can be used to make a living fence / barrier .
