Translate revealed it is apparrantly from a disused family "theophrastaceae", originates in South America, fruit is 4-6cm and has a common name of mount tribute fruit in China.

Very aesthetically pleasing plant

Yikes, that's an obscure un', allright. Not only do I not know what it is, I wouldn't even begin to know the genus. Thought it might be a palm of some description at first, not so sure on second inspection.

Its defiantly shaped like a palm but has large leaves instead of fronds like an palm and a Garcinia mixed together :o that last pic is also like how many palms fruit ???

This is sp. Clavija we have a variety of this in the D.R.

Clavija domingense.

but the one in pictures is probably not Clavija d.

C. mutis
C. ornata
C. longifolia

Maybe?

Would guess they got it from Jim West, so probably one of the species of clavija that he has, but he usually just has them as Clavija sp.
