thanks for sharing! i stopped growing these because you need at least two trees if they aren't hermaphroditic. i agree, it sounds too good to be true, but it's worth a shot. i wonder how long a air-layering will take to produce fruit.

i think your best bet is to work perlite and/or vermiculite into the soil as much as possible without damaging the roots. i would completely repot though. it can be the same sized pot. just take out as much of the garden soil as you can and work in the perlite/vermiculite with potting mix if you need to.

nice quenepa. i never knew they were called spanish limes. i tried growing them once but the thing is that you usually need a male and a female tree to produce fruit. see here:

you might want to grow a few just to be safe.

name is georges (french spelling). i live in west central florida and i'm zone pushing a number of tropicals including mangoes, soursop and bananas. i only have a couple mango varieties atm, but ordered up some bud wood so hopefully i can expand here before fall. i just put a nam doc mai and pickering in the ground.

one word for unsuspecting thieves eyeing my backyard fruit: hostile vegetation. my fence is lined with it

nam doc mai is a condo variety that is polyembryonic.  i have heard that they grow aggressively and need heavy pruning. i have a juvenile tree so no fruit/seeds, but good luck with your search.

Is there a powerpoint available? i am intrigued.

mine have been extremely low maintenance. just make sure you get one with the florida-specific rootstock so the nematodes don't get to them and mulch around the base. you also want to water them in may-june when we typically experience drought and the fruit start to fill out. otherwise you won't reach maximum size.

here's a good link on florida peaches http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/mg374

i've had tropic beauty, tropic snow, uf sun and uf one. i like tropic beauty and tropic snow the best in taste and the trees have all done well for me and produce a lot of fruit. i'm in the tampa bay area though so you might get better input from someone in your area.

I would like to buy some seeds as well if you still have some available
