Neat pictures, and cool lighting.

I wonder why Brooklyn is ahead of south Florida as far as ripening this year.   :o

Awesome!  I'm surprised you haven't moved some of your plants outside lately.

i dont plan on moving my fruiting plants outsde- im scared the move might knock the fruit off and im scared the squirrels will eat the fruit. hope to let it ripen in the garage greenhouse

Hey lycheeluva,
WOW! That 'Maha Chanok' fruit looks awesome! i hope that you get them to hold on till maturity...best of luck! I'm really glad you posted this. I have been wondering how a mango would ripen up here in NY state. Obviously our sun isn't as intense and hot as it is in FL...this has to be an issue for proper ripening and sugar content of the fruits.

Have you had a potted mango ripen outdoors before? If so, how did the mango taste?

Last year I met a woman that lives close to me who has an extensive fig collection. We met and swapped a few trees. I gave her a sugar apple seedling and a piece of my 'basjoo' banana. I ended up with 9 diffrent fig varieties. What do you think of the 'Petite Negra'? i've thought about buying this but wanted to get opinions on the production and flavor of the figs.

Jay,
What about you? You must have had many fruits that have ripened outdoors. How was the flavor of the fruits? I'm just wondering if and when my trees produce, if I will end up with sour fruits or not.

I do keep them all in full sun as much as possible. BTW..no further damage to my 'Maha Chanok'. i only lost a few new leaves and that was it. How's your 'Maha' and all the others that you bought from Thailand?

Mangomadman- not sure if your q was tongue in cheek but in case it wasnt, the reason  im ahead of florida is because my trees are indoors and have not been exposed to temps below 55.

Andrew- never had a mango ripen outdoor before. petit negra fig is very good tasting and pretty productive. i def recommend.

Very nice LL...love the mangoes and the lychee fruits, really starting to size up!

FWIW, I don't think its the Phyto-fos that's causing your lychee leaves to shrivel up. I use it on a regular basis on my Lychee trees especially when there's new growths which is when its recommended to spray and have never had issues of leaf injury. Might be from lack of water...just a guess? I know they love water especially when there's new growths.

Here's mine that I just sprayed about 2 weeks ago...

No apologies necessary...We're ALL obsessed that's why we're here  ;D...we love pictures and updates!

You're doing a really good job with your plants, Gerry.  I am pleased and somewhat surpirsed to see the Maha Chanok fruit sizing up so well.  On a smaller tree, especially pot grown, it would not be unexpected to see a smaller fruit produced.  The taste would be the same, but your fruit looks to be getting to full size.  So, you are doing something.....or probably many things right. Keep up the good work!  Your Sweetheart lychees are doing equally as well.....certainly a whole lot better than mine.  Keep up the good work!

Impressive growing there! What light setup were you using again? I am surprised to see a decent indoor container yield of lychees.
