Mango season was very sparse for our family this year. Of the ones we got from our trees, the Edward and Maha Chanoks were outstanding. Two of the finest I have ever eaten. I also had some Florigons, some Kents, some Mallikas (superb when perfectly ripe), and 1 Sweet Tart (the first one a smallish tree has ever produced). The ST was lackluster, but this is likely due to it being the first fruit.
How was the Florigon ?
I ask because i have one, about 4ft tall and bushy.
its actually from seed though. (i dont remember if that is a poly seed ?)
Anyway, since im in New Orleans, border of 9a/9b, i am really pushing it
and didnt want to spend a fortune on a grafted tree and shipping
(you cant buy a mango tree here), and thought maybe a seedling tree might be hardier anyway.
It doesnt have to be in the top 5 tastes of all time
if it survives the winter and fruits
i will be happy if it tastes like a Tommy.
